SUMMARY:Ragging Destroys Not Just Careers\, but Lives: Malwanchal University Organizes Anti-Ragging Awareness Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Reinforcing its commitment to providing a safe\, inclusive\, and student-friendly learning environment\, Malwanchal University organized a comprehensive Anti-Ragging Awareness Seminar for students across its constituent institutions. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students\, faculty members\, and members of the Anti-Ragging Committee representing Index Medical College\, Index Institute of Dental Sciences\, the Department of Paramedical Sciences\, and other affiliated institutions of the University. The seminar aimed to educate students about the serious consequences of ragging while promoting a culture of mutual respect\, responsibility\, and dignity on campus. The University emphasized that a ragging-free campus is the cornerstone of quality education\, holistic development\, and a secure academic atmosphere where every student can thrive without fear. \nAddressing the gathering\, Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Narang stated that ragging is not merely an act that disrupts a student’s academic journey but one that can leave deep and lasting emotional\, psychological\, and social scars. He highlighted that the nature of ragging has evolved over the years\, often taking the form of mental harassment\, cyberbullying\, and social exclusion\, making it even more harmful in today’s digital age. Dr. Narang urged students never to treat ragging as a harmless tradition or remain silent about such incidents. He encouraged them to immediately report any form of ragging to the University administration or the Anti-Ragging Committee\, stressing that awareness\, open communication\, and timely intervention are the most effective tools in eliminating this social evil. \nThe seminar was graced by Superintendent of Police (Rural)\, Indore\, Mr. Rajesh Verma\, who addressed students on the legal implications of ragging and explained the strict laws and disciplinary actions applicable to offenders. Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria\, Chairman\, Mayank Welfare Foundation\, emphasized that creating awareness among students is essential for building a respectful and harmonious educational environment. The programme was also attended by DSP Umakant Chaudhary\, Dr. R. S. Ranawat (Director)\, Dr. Rosaiah Kanaparthi (Dean)\, Dr. G. S. Patel\, Dr. Pawan Bhambani\, Dr. R. C. Yadav\, Deputy Registrar Dr. Rajendra Singh\, CAO Dheeraj Jaiswal\, Ms. Amita Singh\, along with senior academicians\, police officials\, and university administrators\, all reaffirming their collective commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
