Index Institute of Law, Malwanchal University, celebrated Independence Day on 14 August 2026 at the institute’s auditorium with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The programme aimed to instil patriotism, national pride, constitutional awareness and a sense of social responsibility among students. The event was graced by Mr. Kunal Bhawar, Advocate, High Court of Madhya Pradesh, as the Guest Speaker, along with Dr. Vinod Yadav, Director, Index Institute of Law; Dr. Deepak Mishra, Director, Index Nursing College; Dr. Ritesh Vishwakarma, Director, Index Homeopathic College; Dr. C.L. Yadav, Principal, Index Homeopathic College; Dr. Ajay Mishra, Principal, IIMAS; and Mr. Arvind Gangrade, Deputy Director – HR, Malwanchal University. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the felicitation of the dignitaries. Muskan Dangi, a student of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) II Year, delivered the welcome address, setting a warm and respectful tone for the celebration.
The programme featured patriotic musical performances by students of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), including a group patriotic song and a solo presentation by Muskan Devda of I Year. The performances filled the auditorium with enthusiasm and reinforced the spirit of national unity. The Dean, Index Institute of Law, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to uphold constitutional values, maintain discipline and fulfil their duties as responsible citizens. Mr. Bhisma Kumar, Assistant Professor, introduced the Guest Speaker, Mr. Kunal Bhawar, who delivered an inspiring address on the significance of independence and the responsibilities that accompany freedom. He emphasised the importance of integrity, discipline, constitutional awareness and respect for the rule of law. Addressing the future legal professionals, he highlighted their role in protecting the Constitution, promoting justice and contributing to a responsible and progressive society. His address encouraged students to look beyond the historical significance of Independence Day and recognise their responsibility towards nation-building. Dr. Vinod Yadav, Director, Index Institute of Law, also addressed the gathering, appreciating the efforts of the organisers and motivating students to focus on academic excellence, character development and professional growth.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Khushi Narwani, Assistant Professor, Index Institute of Law, who expressed gratitude to the Guest Speaker, dignitaries, university officials, faculty members, staff and students for their valuable contributions. The event was confidently anchored by Sanskriti Mandloi and Abhishek Jat, students of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) II Year. The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, sung collectively by everyone present. The programme provided students with an opportunity to reflect on the values of freedom, justice, equality and constitutional responsibility. Through inspiring addresses and enthusiastic student participation, the celebration reinforced the commitment of Index Institute of Law, Malwanchal University, to nurturing knowledgeable, ethical and socially responsible legal professionals who can contribute meaningfully to the nation.
