The Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences celebrated World Physiotherapy Day 2025 on 8th September 2025 at the Malwanchal University Campus, IMCHRC, with this year\u2019s theme: \u201cHealthy Ageing.\u201d The program began with an insightful introduction highlighting the importance of physiotherapy in promoting mobility, preventing falls, and enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals. The session emphasized that physiotherapy is not just a treatment but a preventive approach to maintaining health and independence in later years. The audience was educated on various aspects of healthy ageing, including regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle modifications, underlining the vital role of physiotherapists in society. The event was organized under the guidance of Chairman Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria and Vice Chairman Mayank Raj Singh Bhadoria, who encouraged initiatives to promote health awareness and community engagement.<\/p>

As a key highlight of the celebration, physiotherapy students presented a Nukkad Natak (street play) to engage the community and spread awareness about age-related health issues such as joint stiffness, falls, lack of exercise, and lifestyle diseases. Through relatable scenarios, humor, and interactive role-play, the students demonstrated practical strategies for fall prevention, mobility improvement, and active living. The performance attracted a large gathering of local residents, patients, and students, fostering active participation and discussion. The play effectively conveyed that adopting regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, and seeking timely physiotherapy interventions can significantly improve independence and quality of life for senior citizens.<\/p>

The event concluded with an address by the Principal of IDOPT, who lauded the students\u2019 creative efforts and emphasized the growing importance of physiotherapy in elderly care. Feedback from the audience reflected high appreciation for the informative and entertaining approach, with many noting that they were previously unaware of physiotherapy\u2019s preventive benefits. The celebration successfully raised awareness about healthy ageing and inspired the community to embrace simple yet effective lifestyle changes.
