The Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences, Malwanchal University, Indore, successfully organized a 2-Day Hands-on Workshop on Dry Needling for Chronic Pain Relief and Sports Injuries (Basic and Advanced) on 25th and 26th November 2025. The workshop was conducted as a value-added academic initiative with the objective of enhancing clinical proficiency, practical exposure, and evidence-based treatment skills among physiotherapy students and professionals. Centered around the theme \u201cEnhancing clinical excellence through hands-on dry needling education,\u201d the program focused on strengthening participants\u2019 understanding of modern dry needling techniques used in chronic pain management and sports injury rehabilitation.<\/p>

The workshop was led by the distinguished resource person Dr. Richa Singh, Sports Physiotherapist, CEO & Founder of Perfect Bounce, Bangalore, and a Certified Dry Needling Instructor. She was formally welcomed by Dr. Reshma Khurana, Principal, Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences. Over two intensive days, participants received comprehensive training in Integrated Neuro-Myofascial Dry Needling and Sports Integrated Dry Needling through interactive lectures, live demonstrations, and supervised hands-on practice. The training covered functional anatomy, trigger point identification, safety measures, indications and contraindications, and dry needling techniques for major upper and lower limb regions. Each practical module was preceded by a focused regional anatomical briefing to enhance palpation skills, accuracy, and clinical confidence among participants.<\/p>

Day One of the workshop emphasized the fundamentals of trigger point dry needling, including the physiology of myofascial trigger points, surface anatomy, and applications in upper limb and spinal conditions. Day Two advanced into specialized dry needling techniques involving TMJ muscles, sternocleidomastoid, thoracic extensors, abdominal muscles, lower limb compartments, and foot musculature, addressing a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions. The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, during which Dr. Richa Singh was felicitated with a memento as a token of appreciation, followed by certificate distribution to all participants.
