Scope :The department of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy aims to impart evidence based evaluation, clinical reasoning and management skills in the areas of orthopedics, musculoskeletal dysfunction and sports Physiotherapy.
Programs :The department has programs in management of people with orthopedic dysfunctions including trauma, elective surgery and musculoskeletal diseases. Research in emerging areas of musculoskeletal Physiotherapy is a focus of the department.
Department Cardio Vascular and Pulmonary Physiotherapy
Objective :The department of Cardio Vascular and Pulmonary Physiotherapy aims to impart evidence based evaluation, clinical reasoning and management skills in the areas of cardiac rehabilitation and preventive cardiology; disabilities arising from vascular dysfunction, supportive care for dysfunctions arising after abdominal surgery and pulmonary disease and dysfunction.
Scope :The department aims to instill skills of evaluation and a reasoning based problem solving approach in acute care management of general surgical, gynecological, cardiac and pulmonary diseases. The major focus of intervention to decrease morbidity, hospital stay and quality of life.
Department of Neuro Physiotherapy
Objective :Well planned management strategy for stroke, spinal cord injury, head injury and developmental disorder. Routinely use standard measurements and instruments for evaluation and management.
Scope :Incorporate the best evidence based teaching methods to increase the understanding and competence of undergraduate students in neuro-Physiotherapy.
Incorporate self-learning in the academics in adult neurological conditions. Act as facilitators to increase and improve competence in students in the Neuro Physiotherapy.
Department of Paediatric Physiotherapy
Objective :Department of Paediatric Physiotherapy aims to impart evidence based evaluation, clinical reasoning and management skills in the areas of paediatric and childhood disorders, dysfunctions and disability.
Scope :Department aims to instill skills of evaluation and a reasoning based problem solving approach in first contact paediatric practice. The role of a Physiotherapist in early intervention, handling, education, screening and management is emphasised.
Programmes :The department has programs in early detection of neuro developmental delay in neonates, infants, cerebral palsy, birth trauma related dysfunctions, autism spectrum disorders and other cognitive-social-behavioural dysfunctions.
