World physiotherapy day takes place on 8th September every year. The theme of this year 2022 is Osteoarthritis and its physiotherapy treatment”
The day is observed to promote awareness about and recognition of the crucial contribution physiotherapists are making in the world by enabling people to be mobile, fit, and independent.
This day was an opportunity for our organization to recognize the work that physiotherapists do for their patients.
Keeping this thought, the Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences organized various camps and activities on the theme of “Living well with Osteoarthritis”. The camp was held at Index hospital for patients and staff members including doctors, administrative staffs, clerks, bus drivers, housekeeping and guards of the hospital.
The aim of this camp was to educate them about work related health issues and how it can be prevented. The World Physiotherapy Day was graced by Guest of honour Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoriya chairman Index Group of Institution.
Dr. Reshma khurana, Principal, Index Department of physiotherapy and Paramedical sciences has facilitated Mr. Suresh Singh bhadoriya & Dr. Arpita Mishra facilitated Dr. G S Patel Dean , Index Medical College and lamp lightened the function .
Later the students of the Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences performed nukkad natak to spread awareness towards physiotherapy.
The camp included thorough assessment, consultation, home regime exercises pamphlet pain relief techniques , customized exercises protocol and many more.
Dr. Ruchi saxena , Dr. Shivi Trivedi , Dr. Payal Jain , Dr. Vidhi Tiwari, Dr. Arpita Mishra and Dr.Vaishali Patel faculties and Students Of BPT intern , IV year, III year assessed and demonstrated exercises to staff members of Index Medical College hospital and Research Centre.
