World Blood Donation Day: Index Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences Lead the Way in Saving Lives
The Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences actively participated in the celebrations of World Blood Donation Day on June 14th, demonstrating its commitment to community health and social responsibility. In collaboration with Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre and Malwanchal University, the department organized a blood donation camp and an awareness rally aimed at promoting the life-saving practice of voluntary blood donation. Students and faculty members from physiotherapy and various paramedical disciplines joined hands with doctors and other healthcare professionals to donate blood and encourage others to do the same. Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Vice Chancellor of Malwanchal University, addressed the participants and highlighted the profound impact of blood donation, calling it the “Mahadaan” – the greatest gift one can give to save a life. He reminded everyone that blood cannot be artificially manufactured, making voluntary donation a crucial social responsibility. His inspiring message motivated many students and staff from the Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences to pledge regular blood donation and actively promote awareness in their communities. The event was further supported by prominent faculty and healthcare leaders including Dr. Reshma Khurana, Dr. Romi Srivastava, and senior doctors from the hospital, alongside students from medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, and paramedical streams. The enthusiasm and participation of the physiotherapy and paramedical students reflected the department’s dedication to holistic healthcare and compassionate service. Through such initiatives, the Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences continues to foster a culture of empathy, responsibility, and active contribution to public health causes.
