De-Stress Your Body Through Sahaja Yoga Meditation: A Transformative Wellness Experience

The Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences organized a special session on Sahaja Yoga Meditation on 1st November 2025 at the 4th Floor Lecture Hall, Index Hospital, with the theme “De-Stress Your Body Through Sahaja Yoga Meditation.” The program aimed to promote inner peace, enhance mental focus, and encourage emotional well-being among students and faculty. Sahaja Yoga, founded in 1970 by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (1923–2011), is a unique technique based on awakening the Kundalini energy within every human being, leading to self-realization and inner transformation. Shri Mataji dedicated her life to spreading the message of peace, compassion, and spiritual balance across the world. The event began with the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment, followed by a warm welcome to the guest speaker. The hall was filled with enthusiasm and positive energy as participants gathered to explore meditation as a holistic approach to stress management.

The session was conducted by Dr. Sunil Jaiswal (MBBS, MD – Consultant Pathologist), who was felicitated by the Principal as a gesture of gratitude for his presence. Distinguished faculty members including Mrs. Shweta Jais and Mrs. Harsha Navlani graced the occasion, extending encouragement and support to the participants. Dr. Jaiswal delivered an insightful and research-backed presentation on the scientific aspects of meditation. He explained the subtle system of chakras and energy channels and their deep connection to the nervous system. He emphasized how meditation helps regulate emotional responses, improve concentration, and enhance overall health by reducing stress hormones and promoting a calm state of mind. His talk created a deeper understanding of meditation not just as a spiritual practice but also as a scientifically supported wellness tool.

Following the lecture, participants experienced a guided meditation session, achieving a state of Self-Realization (Kundalini Awakening), marked by inner silence, peace, and heightened awareness. The serene environment allowed everyone to feel refreshed and spiritually uplifted. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic involvement. The event ended with a group photograph, capturing smiles and contentment, symbolizing the success of the session. The Sahaja Yoga Meditation program beautifully combined science, spirituality, and health, inspiring all attendees to adopt meditation as a regular practice for a balanced, happy, and stress-free life..
