Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India every year on 2nd October to proclaim the glory of Gandhiji who devoted his life to india to its glorious freedom by using his strong weapon “Nonviolence”. The day is also celebrated to pay tribute to Lal Bhadur Shashtri, second Prime Minister of India and a great Leader.
To revere this day, The Principal of Index department of Physiotherapy & paramedical sciences Dr. Reshma Khurana, paid homage by lighting the lamp in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s Portrait and in her speech she motivated the students to learn more about Gandhiji and inculcate his philosophy in day to day life.
The Student led choir sung Gandhi’s favourite bhajan ‘Vaishnav Janto’ with full exuberance.A special speech with Gandhian quotes and messages brought the gathering to understand more about this iconic leader. Gandhian ideals were depicted through a skit which the students presented in the most eloquent manner.All our Students were imbued with Gandhian values and thoughts and vowed to become berths citizens of India and this World.
At the end of the event, the non-participant also eagerly shared their views on Bapu. The programme ended on a positive note.
