International Yoga Day 2026 Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences

The Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation on 21st June 2026. The event was organized to promote awareness about the importance of yoga in achieving physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining flexibility, strength, balance, and overall wellness throughout all stages of life. Students, faculty members, and staff actively participated in the celebration, reflecting their commitment to adopting a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. The event highlighted the vital role of yoga in preventive healthcare and holistic well-being, aligning with the department’s vision of promoting health and wellness within society.

The celebration was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Mayank Welfare Foundation, and Mr. Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria, Vice Chairman, Mayank Welfare Foundation, whose continuous support towards educational and healthcare initiatives remains a source of inspiration. The program was further graced by the presence of Dr. Reshma Khurana, Professor and Principal, IDOPT, whose encouraging words motivated participants to embrace yoga as an integral part of their daily lives. The event commenced with Om chanting and the Yoga Prayer, creating a peaceful and energetic atmosphere. Participants then performed a series of yoga asanas and pranayama techniques under expert guidance. A major highlight of the event was the demonstration of advanced yoga postures, including Shirshasan, Garudasan, Chakrasan, Dhanurasan, and Bakasan. The students showcased remarkable confidence, discipline, and dedication while performing these challenging asanas, demonstrating their commitment to physical fitness, mental resilience, and holistic development.

The International Yoga Day celebration served as a meaningful reminder that yoga is a way of life that nurtures harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. The event successfully conveyed the message that regular yoga practice can help individuals remain active, independent, and healthy as they age.
