Malwanchal University Leads Traffic Awareness Campaign to Promote Road Safety in Indore

In a significant step towards enhancing road safety in Indore, Malwanchal University, in collaboration with Indore Nagar Nigam and the Traffic Police, launched a comprehensive Traffic Awareness Campaign from January 1st to 25th, 2025, at Vijay Nagar Square. The initiative aimed to educate students and local residents about responsible driving, adherence to traffic rules, and the importance of road safety. Spearheaded by Mr. Pushy Mitra Bhargav, Mayor of Indore Nagar Nigam, and supported by Mr. Mayank Raj Singh Bhadoriya, Vice Chairman of Malwanchal University, the campaign focused on reducing accidents and saving lives through proactive awareness.

As part of the campaign, 30 dedicated students from the Index Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences volunteered to serve as Traffic Mitras. These students worked alongside traffic police at key intersections in Vijay Nagar Square, engaging with pedestrians and drivers to spread critical safety messages. Throughout the month, they highlighted the importance of wearing seat belts, helmets, and adhering to traffic signals. They also encouraged responsible parking practices, such as avoiding parking in front of crosswalk lines, to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents.

The success of this campaign underscores the vital role educational institutions can play in community safety initiatives. Malwanchal University’s active involvement exemplifies its commitment to public safety and social responsibility. By empowering students to take an active role in spreading awareness, the campaign helped foster a culture of road safety in Indore, contributing to the city’s goal of reducing traffic-related accidents and ensuring safer roads for all.
