To evolve as a nationally recognized centre of excellence in the domains of mental health, communication sciences, and inclusive education by fostering a transformative environment that integrates academic rigor, clinical precision, and social commitment.

We envision preparing a cadre of skilled professionals—psychologists, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and inclusive educators—who are equipped not only with evidence-based knowledge and practical expertise but also with the ethical values and cultural sensitivity necessary to address the diverse needs of individuals and communities.

Positioned in a rural setting, our vision extends to bridging service gaps by making specialized care, education, and rehabilitation accessible to underserved populations. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, research advancement, and sustained community engagement, we aim to contribute meaningfully to national development in health, education, and disability rehabilitation.



Our Mission

At the Index Institute of Behaviour and Rehabilitation Sciences (IIBRS), our mission is to cultivate a new generation of competent, compassionate, and ethically grounded professionals in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology, and Special and Inclusive Education.


We are committed to delivering high-quality education and structured clinical training aligned with the standards of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Rooted in a rural setting, we strive to bridge the gap between underserved communities and specialized healthcare and educational services. By integrating academic excellence with field-based learning, we aim to empower students to serve with empathy, promote inclusion, and contribute meaningfully to community development and national rehabilitation goals.

Regulatory Compliance Our academic and clinical functions are guided by:

University Grant Commission: Higher education standards, student welfare, and institutional development.

Rehabilitation council of India: Professional curriculum, clinical practicum, and licensure requirements.

National Medical Council : Clinical coordination for psychiatry and allied healthcare interfaces where relevant.

Our Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) regularly evaluates academic delivery, student satisfaction, faculty development, and clinical standards. Feedback loops and review mechanisms are embedded in all key processes.

Student Welfare and Grievance Redressal

To ensure a safe and supportive environment, we provide UGC-Complaint Grievance Redressal System Anti-Ragging and Gender Sensitization Committees, Peer mentoring and mental health counseling support.

Community Outreach

As part of our commitment to public welfare, we conduct Disability screening and awareness programs, Parent training and inclusive education workshops, Outreach in schools and rural communities for early intervention. These initiatives reinforce student learning while promoting inclusion at the grassroots level.
