About the Course:
The Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology (Honours) is a four-year full-time undergraduate program, officially approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) under the program code 0209. Launched for implementation beginning in the academic year 2024–25, this course represents the first RCI-approved honours-level degree in Clinical Psychology in India. It has been designed to prepare students with a solid academic foundation and practical competence for entry-level roles in mental health services and to serve as a pathway to advanced professional training. The program curriculum includes intensive academic and practical components such as psychological assessment and diagnosis, counseling and therapeutic approaches, research methodology, statistics, and specializations in child, adolescent, and adult clinical psychology. In addition to classroom-based instruction, students participate in experiential learning through clinical laboratories, supervised field placements, case-based workshops, and mental health camps. This program is well-suited for students with a strong interest in mental health and psychological sciences who aspire to work in clinical, rehabilitative, or research-oriented roles. Graduates are equipped to take up professional positions as assistant clinical psychologists, counselors, and psychological assessors in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, non-governmental organizations, and private clinics. Additionally, students may pursue further studies such as MSc/MA in Psychology, MPhil in Clinical Psychology, Psy.D., or doctoral research programs.
