World Environment Day 2026 Celebrated with Enthusiasm at the Department of Physiotherapy & Paramedical Sciences, Malwanchal University
The Department of Physiotherapy & Paramedical Sciences, Malwanchal University, Indore, celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with great enthusiasm under the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative. A series of awareness and engagement activities were organized from 21 May to 05 June 2026 with the objective of promoting environmental consciousness and encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. The initiative reflected the department’s commitment to fostering responsible citizens who understand the importance of environmental conservation alongside healthcare excellence.
The celebration featured a wide range of educational and creative activities designed to inspire eco-friendly thinking among students. An awareness session on “Save Energy and Save Water” highlighted the significance of conserving natural resources through simple yet impactful daily habits. Students enthusiastically participated in a Best Out of Waste Competition, where they showcased innovative physiotherapy equipment created using recycled materials, emphasizing the principles of reuse and sustainability. A Poster Making Competition further encouraged participants to express their ideas on environmental protection through artistic creativity. In addition, sessions on Biomedical Waste Management and the WHO Hand Hygiene Awareness Program reinforced the importance of safe healthcare practices, infection prevention, and responsible waste disposal in the medical profession.
The celebrations concluded on World Environment Day with a vibrant Plantation Drive, during which students and faculty members planted saplings within the campus and pledged to contribute towards a greener future. A Plastic-Free Campus Pledge and an inspiring awareness talk on “Small Actions for a Sustainable Future” motivated participants to embrace environmentally responsible lifestyles and become active contributors to sustainable development. Through these meaningful initiatives, the Department of Physiotherapy & Paramedical Sciences successfully instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among students, reaffirming its dedication to creating a healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable future for society.
