Cultivating Calmness: FDP at Malwanchal University
23rd January, 2025
Malwanchal University’s Index Institute of Dental Sciences (IIDC) hosted a transformative Faculty Development Program (FDP), emphasizing the significance of mindfulness and mental peace in today’s competitive world. The event featured Dr. Prashant Kakode from Cambridge University, an expert with over 34 years of experience in Raja Yoga meditation and a coordinator for Brahmakumaris activities at Cambridge. With the support of the Brahmakumaris, Dr. Kakode shared insights on the interconnection of science, consciousness, and holistic health, inspiring interns and faculty to adopt a balanced and mindful approach to personal and professional challenges.
The session underscored the importance of mental tranquility as a cornerstone of resilience and effective leadership. Dr. Kakode illustrated how true calmness begins within, empowering individuals to lead with clarity, empathy, and purpose. He highlighted relatable examples, such as how children radiate peace, as they symbolize a space free from competition and judgment. The engaging discourse emphasized that inner peace not only enhances personal well-being but also fosters healthier relationships and a more harmonious work environment.
The program also featured insights from the Brahmakumaris team, who stressed the need to nurture human values in an increasingly materialistic world. Participants were encouraged to maintain balance in thoughts, words, and actions to cultivate inner harmony. Malwanchal University’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sanjeev Narang, and other distinguished faculty members, including Registrar Dr. Lokeshwar Singh Jodhna and Dean Dr. Suparna Ganguly, graced the event. This FDP served as a meaningful initiative to equip future leaders with tools for mindfulness, compassion, and holistic growth.
