
Malwanchal Yoga Mahotsav 2026 Sets World Record with Participation of Over 35,000 Yoga Enthusiasts
Malwanchal University, Amaltas University, and the Index and Amaltas Group of Institutions successfully organized the grand Malwanchal Yoga Mahotsav 2026 at the Index Campus, Nemawar Road, Indore, creating a historic world record with the participation of more than 35,000 individuals in a collective yoga session. The event, conducted as part of the Ministry of AYUSH’s nationwide Yoga Mahotsav and Countdown initiatives for International Day of Yoga 2026, witnessed registrations from more than 51,000 participants. Students from various institutions, citizens from urban and rural areas, social organizations, and yoga enthusiasts joined the event, making it one of the largest yoga gatherings in the country. The program also received a special message from Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Ministry of AYUSH, recognizing the significance of the initiative in promoting yoga and holistic well-being.
The historic event was graced by Padma Shri Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor of S-VYASA University, Bengaluru and yoga mentor to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished dignitaries included Cabinet Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Member of Parliament Shri Shankar Lalwani, Chairman of Mayank Welfare Foundation Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Vice Chairman Shri Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria, BJP City Vice President Dr. Deepti Singh Hada, and several eminent guests from different sectors. The achievement was officially recognized and certified by the World Book of Records, London team comprising Ms. Apoorva Menon, Ms. Tithi Bhalla, and Mr. Himanshu Tiwari. The event featured large-scale yoga demonstrations, pranayama sessions, and meditation practices conducted under the guidance of yoga experts across 11 designated zones within the campus.
Addressing the gathering, Padma Shri Dr. H.R. Nagendra highlighted the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Ministry of AYUSH to transform yoga into a nationwide movement and connect nearly 300 million people through yoga initiatives. He praised Malwanchal University and Amaltas University for organizing such a massive yoga congregation and emphasized the role of yoga in preventive healthcare and healthy living. Shri Inder Singh Parmar described yoga as an integral part of daily life, while Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya appreciated the opportunity provided to the younger generation to learn from one of the country’s foremost yoga experts. Shri Tulsiram Silawat congratulated the institutions and participants for achieving the world record. Chairman Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria and Vice Chairman Shri Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria credited the success to the collective efforts of students, faculty members, citizens, village representatives, Janpad officials, members of the Nemawar Industries Association, and the wider community. On the occasion, Dr. Reshma Khurana, Principal of the Department of Physiotherapy and Paramedical Sciences, presented mementos to the World Book of Records delegation, marking the successful completion of a landmark event dedicated to health, harmony, and social participation.
