The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and members of the Anti-Ragging Committee representing Index Medical College, Index Institute of Dental Sciences, the Department of Paramedical Sciences, and other affiliated institutions of the University. The seminar aimed to educate students about the serious consequences of ragging while promoting a culture of mutual respect, responsibility, and dignity on campus. The University emphasized that a ragging-free campus is the cornerstone of quality education, holistic development, and a secure academic atmosphere where every student can thrive without fear.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Narang stated that ragging is not merely an act that disrupts a student’s academic journey but one that can leave deep and lasting emotional, psychological, and social scars. He encouraged them to immediately report any form of ragging to the University administration or the Anti-Ragging Committee, stressing that awareness, open communication, and timely intervention are the most effective tools in eliminating this social evil.
The seminar was graced by Superintendent of Police (Rural), Indore, Mr. Rajesh Verma, who addressed students on the legal implications of ragging and explained the strict laws and disciplinary actions applicable to offenders. Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Mayank Welfare Foundation, emphasized that creating awareness among students is essential for building a respectful and harmonious educational environment.
