Yoga and Indian Culture Highlighted on World Brotherhood Day at S-VYASA University

Malwanchal University, Indore, participated in a special programme organised on the occasion of World Brotherhood Day at S-VYASA University, Bengaluru, where the values of yoga, Indian culture, knowledge and universal brotherhood were highlighted. The programme brought together eminent academicians, healthcare professionals, yoga experts and educationists from across the country. Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Mayank Welfare Foundation, was the Chief Guest at the programme. Prof. Jyoti Keswani, Director, CCRYN, along with several distinguished personalities associated with education, healthcare and yoga, also participated in the event. Addressing the gathering, Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor, S-VYASA University, highlighted the importance of yoga as India’s profound knowledge tradition and its role in creating harmony between the body, mind and consciousness. He emphasised that in the present era of stress, lifestyle challenges and increasing mental pressure, yoga offers a holistic approach towards a healthy, balanced and purposeful life.

Representing Malwanchal University and the Index Group of Institutions, Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria addressed the students and participants and shared his vision on the importance of education, healthcare, Indian knowledge traditions and institutional collaboration. He emphasised that the message of world brotherhood should not remain limited to a particular day or programme, but should become an integral part of education and social life. He said that educational institutions have a significant responsibility in shaping the future of the nation by nurturing students with knowledge, discipline, values, compassion and a spirit of service. He further highlighted the universal relevance of India’s rich yoga and knowledge traditions, stating that these traditions can contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals and society across the world. He also stressed the need for greater collaboration and exchange of knowledge between institutions to create new opportunities for learning, research and the holistic development of students.

The programme provided an enriching platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas among leading personalities from the fields of education, healthcare and yoga. Prof. S. Kumari, Registrar, S-VYASA University, introduced the dignitaries, while Vice Chancellor Dr. N.K. Manjunath presented an overview of the university’s academic activities, achievements, initiatives and contributions to yoga education and research. The discussions underlined the importance of combining India’s traditional wisdom with contemporary education and healthcare approaches to promote healthier and more balanced communities. The participation of Malwanchal University reflected its commitment to value-based education, holistic well-being, institutional collaboration and the preservation and promotion of India’s rich knowledge heritage. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. S. Shiv Shankar Sai, Pro Vice Chancellor, S-VYASA University.
